The Bay Area Houston Transportation Partnership (BayTran) was formed in 1990 as a Transportation Management Organization for the Bay Area Houston Gulf Coast region in southeast Texas. BayTran services 18 municipalities across Brazoria, Harris and Galveston counties, which include 280 square miles, 400,000 residents, 150,000 employee and 10,000 employers. The TMO is led by an Executive Committee as well as a large Board of Directors and Advisory Board. The membership for BayTran consists of municipalities and other community organizations as well as aerospace agencies, engineering firms, colleges and universities and other private industry firms. BayTran exists in the booming retail, refinery industry, aerospace, and residential suburbs of Pearland, Pasadena, Clear Lake and Galveston where transportation services are limited. BayTran services, although abbreviated by these limitations, still focus on mobility and clean air issues. |
